Stone & Company was founded in 1986 by Philip and Matthew Stone to furnish accounting, tax, and consulting services of the highest quality. We have grown to serve a large number of businesses and non-profit institutions throughout Massachusetts and New Hampshire. PHILIP C. STONE, CPA

Phil is a 1974 graduate of the Buckingham Browne & Nichols School and received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from Colgate University in 1978. He earned a Master of Science degree in Accounting from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania in 1980. He served as an Audit Supervisor in the Boston Office of Peat, Marwick, Mitchell & Co. (now "KPMG") and as the Controller of an acute care hospital before starting Stone & Company in 1986. Phil is active in local conservation groups, the Appalachian Mountain Club, and is a member and past Treasurer of the Wharton Club of Boston. He is also associated with the Board of Directors of Eagle Bank and is registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

MATTHEW P. STONE, CPA

Matt is a 1977 graduate of the Buckingham Browne & Nichols School and earned a B.S. in Accounting from Indiana University in 1981. He served as an Audit Supervisor in the Boston office of Deloitte Haskins & Sells and as the Controller of New England Baptist Hospital before starting Stone & Company in 1986. He is a member of the Board of Trustees of Tufts New England Medical Center where he serves as chairman of the finance and audit committees. Matt is actively involved in the fields of health and education, and is a frequent speaker on topical issues.

SELECTED STAFF OF OUR FIRM:

SCOTT A. McKENZIE, CPA

Scott has recently joined us from the international accounting firm of Ernst & Young LLP where he served as an Audit Manager in their Technology, Communications and Entertainment Group. Previously, Scott worked ten years at the firm of Tonneson & Company PC in Wakefield, Massachusetts where he attained the level of Manager. Scott was responsible for the delivery of tax and financial reporting services to small and mid-size businesses in a variety of industries including distribution, construction, high-tech, investments, and non-profit. Scott is a 1998 honors graduate of Gordon College and holds leadership positions in several school and church boards.

CHRISTOPHER J. DOYLE, CPA

Christopher joins us with six years of public accounting experience including four years with the international accounting firm of PricewaterhouseCoopers. He has developed considerable knowledge in the delivery of audit and tax services, and has also gained experience in the small business sector through his years spent at Schweitzer Karon & Bremer, LLC in Minneapolis. Christopher is a 2001 graduate of the University of Northern Iowa and is a member of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners.

DAVID SOUSA

David is a 2004 graduate of Bentley College where he was an honors student of accounting. He joined us in 2005 after serving with a large local CPA firm. David has gained considerable experience in non-profit auditing as well as small business tax preparation. He is pursuing graduate level study in the field of Taxation.

LORNA GRANT

Lorna has joined us from the national CPA firm of RSM McGladrey where she specialized in Quickbooks installation and support. She is also H & R block Certified for various types of income tax preparation. Lorna is currently attending Northeastern University.

JAIME PARRA

Jaime is a 2007 Summa Cum Laude graduate of the University of Massachusetts. He is nearing completion of the uniform CPA examination and works on financial and tax reporting engagements for non-profit organizations.

ALICE ENGLAND

Alice joins us after an eighteen year career with Skyworks Solutions in Woburn where she served as Assistant Treasurer and Manager of Financial Services. She also has seven years experience with Fox & Company, and its successor, Kellem, Goodwin & Cohen. She has passed the uniform CPA examination and is a Magna Cum Laude graduate of Georgia State University. Alice concentrates on financial and tax reporting for small business clients.
